Ten.
My first born turned ten yesterday. I've been in some serious denial. I'm not old enough to have a ten year old, right??
He's grown into such a capable, kind, and smart kid. His dad and I really depend on him. He mows the lawn, he loves to help his dad build stuff, and he is even handy around the house. He enjoys sports, and is incredibly competitive. He usually decides to cheer for the team that his dad is routing against. He loves his younger sisters and brother, and watches out for them.
Happy Birthday, Big Brother. We love you.
p.s. He designed his own cake. He wanted a rectangle covered with chocolate, and a football in the middle. I made the football and lettering with marshmallow fondant.

I think birthdays mean more to 'mum' than anybody...'cos we have a totally different take on the actual birth day. Love those snow photos!
Sweet words for him on his birthday! I can't believe he mows the lawn, can he come over and teach my kiddos. Enjoy your days with him Mom...they grow so fast.
Sounds like a fantastic young man, Chris. I've never thought about it, but I guess ten would hit mom kind of hard. Hang in there:)
Our boys seem a lot alike if he wanted a football on his cake! My boy that is 8 is obsessed with football! So cute! I can't believe you have a 10 year old, but then again, I guess you ARE old enough for it, right? How nice to catch up a bit on your family through your blog...love it!
