Giveaway Day with Sew Mama Sew

I love to give gifts at Christmas.  It is so fun to watch someone's eyes light up and see what you gave them.  So, how could I not join in with Sew, Mama, Sew's Giveaway Day?

I'll be giving away two prizes.  First, a  set of Symbols of Christmas ornaments and keepsake bag, along with laminated explanation to one lucky winner.  (The ornaments will look a lot like this:)

Second, and a free Symbols of Christmas sewing pattern to make as many sets of ornaments as you'd like.  I wish I could see your smile when you win!   Please know how thankful I am to each of my readers!

Entry is simple.  Leave a comment telling me the most favorite gift you've given.  If your email isn't linked to your profile, leave an email so I can notify the winners.  One entry per person, please.  I'll pick two winners via random.org and announce them here on my blog December 17.  So, you have until 6pm MST on December 17 to enter.

Thank you and Merry Christmas!
(Here's some of the ornaments on our Christmas tree. We hung them up yesterday and discussed each symbol's meaning with our children.)

One year, when I was a teenager, I had saved up my money for months and months to take a trip and my Mom's clothes drier broke. It was making her life so difficult (I am one of six kids) so I used all of the money I had saved and bought her a new one. Sure, it's not glamorous, but it made her life better on a daily basis!

MERYY CHRISTMAS!

For my friends Narnia obsessed sons recent birthday I gave him a red scarf wrapped in brown paper from Mr. Tumnus, a long sleeve t with an applique of a map of narnia, a box of turkish delight and a toy lion. His face, when he saw the tag saying the scarf was from Mr. Tumnus, was enough for me.

I've been trying to find a way to share our faith with the kids at Christmas time. God has blessed us abundantly - why bring the little ones up not knowing Him?
My favorite present: I gave my mom a clay handprint ornament of my baby girl last year. Her eyes sparkled with delight as she opened that! Unfortunately I'm a newbie to that particular craft and it crumbled on her after a week! Oh well, life is messy sometimes, isn't it?! :)

These are lovely! Would love to share these with my boys.

Last year for the first time I made hand-knit scarves for some family members. I took a lot of time choosing just the right yarn, color and pattern for each of them and it was very satisfying to give something that I put so much time and effort into.

I had won a gift certificate from Sears and promptly bought my parents new feather pillows......and then slipped and revealed the words "feather pillows" in a conversation. We thought my parents figured it out. They were flabbergasted. I don't know if it was more exciting to surprise them or the fact I had won the money.
