You picked up your creativity

I cannot say I am the best at planning what I'll blog.   However, I had to stop my regular programming and show off some of the wonderful things some of you have been creating.

First up, a lovely birthday banner from Fishsticks and Fries.

Second, a fun paper plate skeleton by How to be a Housewife.

Finally, a fabulous House Diorama from Love People.  Like Things.

This fabulous diorama was also featured at Totally Tutorials!

I am so tickled to see what you all have been making.

Guys need toiletry items too.

Several weeks back, I got an email from a sweet lady who used my pedicure kit tutorial to make her son a toiletry kit for scout camp.

Michelle used old BDU fabric from her husband's uniforms to make an uber-cool toiletry kit.  I was completely smitten.  I'll have to remember this one when my big boy heads to scout camp in a few more years.

I was so excited she used my tutorial, and even more impressed that she made the whole thing with supplies she had on hand.

Then, I checked her blog again...and she's made MORE.  Check it out:

The hot pink bias tape and handles are my favorite!

Modern Quilt Art from a dear Reader

Modern Quilt Art, originally uploaded by hcollinsrn.

How cool is this?  I just found this in our little flickr pool!  When I made my version for SYTYC, I never really thought someone would actually make one.  Seriously. I'm so excited to see that a talented someone tried and succeeded!

As a side note, for some reason, group photos don't always show up unless you sign into flickr.  I'm not sure why.  So if you're clicking and don't see much, sign in.  Which reminds me, I need to upload some more photos.

Reader's birthday banner

This has to be one of my favorite things. I love finding surprises in the Flickr pool...even if I forget to check it!

Marisa made this awesome birthday banner using my birthday banner tutorial, and modern letter templates.  I'm so grateful that she not only made something from one of my tutorials...but she was willing to share it, too.

I would love to feature your creations.  It is thrilling to see that someone took a tutorial of mine, and made something new and wonderful with it.  Thanks, Marisa for bringing a huge smile to my face.

Meet my Pattern Tester, Diana!

Buster bib, originally uploaded by allgirlshere.

I have a very dear friend and neighbor, Diana. She is amazing. She has four vivacious girls, she just remodeled her kitchen and decorates beautifully...and she was willing to be my guinea pig. She is new to sewing, and wanting to learn more. It was with her in mind that I wrote the Buster Bib pattern. This bib is her first attempt. I'm so thrilled! This is what she had to say about her experience:

"I am a very inexperienced sewer and found this bib really fun to make! I was challenged enough to feel like I was learning something new but not so lost I wanted to give up. Thanks for this fun gift idea!"

Thanks, Diana. You rock!

Sutton's Sunbonnet

Before Halloween I posted a pattern and tutorial to make a Pioneer Sunbonnet in two sizes for little girls. I've had lots of people look at the pattern, but wasn't sure if anyone had made anything from it until this past weekend.
Here's Erin's version:
I think it turned out darling. It's gratifying to know that it actually worked for someone else!
