Barbie Doll Clothes

For the next little while I can finally show off all the fun handmade gifts I've done for Christmas.  First up, Barbie clothes for my niece.  Her mama suggested that her doll needed some new clothes.  I instantly remembered Jess from Craftiness is Not Optional's tutorials, and I had all the motivation I needed.  I made a dress:

a froufy skirt:

an easy skirt:

(don't you love the little tucks?)

and four cap sleeve tops:  (you see two above)

I was able to use some fun vintage trims from my great-granma's stash, including the mini pompoms, and pink lace.  I hope my niece loves dressing her dolly up.

These are the best!!! I so needed to see this. Someone received a barbie campervan for Christmas, & I need to cut all that plastic with gingham and polka dot goodness. These clothes will be cherished.

I love this. A lot of the barbie clothes out there are very skimpy and I'd rather our dolls have something I wouldn't mind my daughter wearing herself (in a larger size, of course). Thanks!

Elle LOVES them! She changed her dolls as soon as we got home and hasn't wanted to put them back into their own dresses since. I love all the details and knowing where you got some of the trimmings from makes it even better. Thank you for your time and talent!!! Have you thought about making matching outfits? Like American girl dolls. You could probably sell those on your Etsy store. I know Ellie would go nuts over it:) Birthday idea maybe????

The blue polka dot dress has to be my favorite. My mom use to sew or knit all of Barbie's clothes when I was a kid! Sadly, my daughter never got into Barbie. Oh well at least she is into crafts. :)

I would love if you would come link this up to my "Sew Fabulous Friday" link Party.
