Canning!!

Fall is in the air...and I am trying my hand at canning for the first time. I have a sweet neighbor who shares any excess in her garden, and she has taken me under her wing to teach me how to preserve all that garden goodness. You can't get much more frugal than 14 jars of gorgeous FREE tomatoes! Peaches and pears are being sold by the case at the local market, and I also tried my hand at canning peaches. I was so excited today that I bought another case of peaches and a bunch of pears. My children love canned fruit, and this year it is much cheaper to can them myself than to buy even case-lot sale canned fruit.

How cute is your blog! Just blog hopping and I'm impressed. Thanks for putting all of these fun ideas together. I'll be frequenting your spot to see what other projects you do and to get some ideas for things to do for my own kids. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for stopping, Julia. I really appreciate your kind comment. I'm getting back into the groove of things, and have some fun ideas planned to share in the next few months.

I love your new header and your blog is awesome. I need to find someone who will can for me and I trade in some way with them!!! I remember my grandparents always having tons and tons of canned peaches, etc. in their basement and it was a treat to pick one out to enjoy.
