I love October.

A fun photo essay of things going on around the Pickup household this week.

It's a lovely golden October morning here in Southern Idaho.
Earlier this week we were finally blessed with some rain.  The proof is in the rainbow.

Finally starting on a costume for Big Sis.  Any guesses?

I let the little kids decorate for Halloween this year.  Recognize our witch?

Although we didn't have a garden this year, our lovely neighbors and family have shared their abundance with us.

And look what came last night...some sod!  We're just putting a little around the house and in the front yard for now, but what a difference from dirt.

I've got so many projects at various stages of completion.  Today, however, the bed sheets need changing, Halloween stories need to be re-read, and bathrooms need scrubbing.  To make all that more fun, I'm enjoying some fabulous 80s music from my childhood.  Did any of you ever listen to Cock Robin or Alan Parsons Project?  My dad has very ecclectic music taste that he passed on to me.  :)  Wishing you a contented weekend in your little piece of earth.  I'm so happy to have cooler weather and all the golden light around me.

p.s.  Do you like my filtered pics?  I was attempting an instagram look.  I don't want a smart phone, but I would love to have that app!

  4. We are having a few days of cooler weather so it is making it feel more like fall. I bet you are so thankful for the grass, what a difference that will make for you dust and dirt that comes into the house. Have you tried ipiccy.com You can upload your pictures for free and do all sorts of cool things with them, way more than you can do in standard instagram. I have been using it for my posts lately, skipping photoshop altogether {not that I am any pro at that!} And I love it!
