Eight

Big Sis is eight.

She is my dramatic, artistic, musical, scholarly, and adorable girl.  She has grown so capable and helpful.  She wanted special cupcakes for her birthday celebration, and helped to decorate them.

This is a momentous occasion.  Not only is she one year older and wiser, but in our church, she is also ready to be baptized.

Here she is, wearing the same dress that I was baptized in.  My mama made it for me, and each of my female cousins wore the dress for their baptisms as well.

She was baptized by her daddy this weekend, surrounded by her family and friends.  She has studied the scriptures carefully and learned about her Savior.  I'm so grateful she decided to follow the example of Jesus.
I pray that she will for the rest of her life.

  1. She is seriously adorable. I love the freckles, and the braid, and the hair is just perfect.

What a blessed day. I hope she continues to follow Christ for the rest of her days.

  3. Oh how special. My youngest will be turning 8 this summer, and will be baptized then. I had a question about the dress she's wearing. Is that what she wore into the water? My youngest wants me to make her a dress to be baptized in, not just to wear that day. I'm not sure where to start in gathering what I need to make one for her. Thanks :)
