Easter Bunnies

I actually finished these before Easter! I'm really excited about how they turned out. Last year I made these Fabric Easter Baskets for my kidlets. We keep things pretty low-key, there is no "Easter Bunny" for our family, but we do a little springy basket Sunday morning with a special token and some candy.

For the boy bunnies, I used the free Chocolate Bunny Pattern from Sew4Home. Instead of minky I used some soft brown fleece.  Simple to follow, the one caution I would give if you make these is don't over stuff.  With the stretchy fabric, it's easy to do.

I made little bow ties that matched the ears.  They close with a bit of velcro.

For the girls, I purchased Larissa's Baby Binky Bunny Pattern.  I love Larissa's design.  Easy to follow pattern, with darling results.  The bodies are a natural canvas twill, the diapers, an old diaper flannel I thought was perfect.

Their tales are nice and fluffy because I canabalized a partial blanket I tried to crochet over 5 years ago, and ran out of yarn for.

Rather than make the blankie, I made a little layette tops for the bunnies.  A little obsessive and crazy?  Yes, yes I am.
I'm really happy with the bunnies.  I hope my kiddos are too.

Wishing each of you a peaceful Easter.  With all the fun of bunnies and springy things, may we never forget the true reason we want to celebrate new life...Jesus Christ.  For without Him none of this is possible.  I will be forever grateful that tomb was empty that Sunday morning so long ago.
